During the summer after my first year of university I planted trees in British Columbia. The loggers back then all used to wear these heavy leather boots, Red Wings, that had a fringe detail. I could never figure out why it was there, on such a hard working shoe. There was something really great about that. SILK + SKIN is a refined, lightweight nod to the old Red Wings.
